Description
Circa 1950s, this beautifully made three-stone engagement ring features a striking and intense raspberry red natural Ruby to centre, with a sparkly and bright white Diamond to each side, mounted on Platinum. The collect is made with Platinum, and the shank is made with 18CT Yellow Gold.
The centre Ruby has the most beautiful red hue, it is a rare square emerald cut, similar to asscher cut. It measures approximately 0.59ct (4.7mm by 4.7mm). It is eye clean, the colour is highly desirable and evenly saturated. The presence of intact rutile needle and crystal inclusions suggest that this Ruby has not been heat-treated.
The adjacent Diamonds are bright and of great presence, assessed clarity is SI and colour G-H, estimated total diamond weight is 0.16ct.
Fully hallmarked by Birmingham Assay Office as 18ct Gold, with Sponsor Mark CC, also marked 18CT and PLAT.
In excellent preowned condition, there are some minor wear to ruby girdle and facet but only visible under a loupe. Some thining towards the back of the band commensurate with age. With gift presentation packaging.
